Commissions
Commissions are open and on a first-come-first-served basis.
All crocheted items will use natural fibres only. This lets me continue to practise my craft sustainably and minimise contact with plastics. As such, I do not use any synthetic fibres like polyester, acrylic, and nylon. When you commission an item, I will let you know which material I recommend for your item. These include:
- Cotton (mercerised or non)
- Wool (sheep or alpaca)
- Silk
- Rayon (bamboo)
- Linen
If you are vegan, please let me know so I can take that into account when making your item.
Jewellery options are all hypoallergenic as I have a nickel allergy and cannot handle the material. Selection for clasps, findings, hooks, closures, and beads are:
- 925 Sterling Silver (solid or plated)
- 14k Gold (solid or plated)
- 18k Gold (solid or plated)
- Surgical Steel
- Titanium
Please provide a detailed description (reference photos are also welcome!) of the object or character you would like. Let me know if you have any style preference for amigurum dolls (like chibi, realistic proportions, large heads, additional clothing, their special item / weapon, a preference for safety eyes or embroidered / felt eyes.
Send your commission request to tailsandyarns@proton.me and I will respond promptly with a quote based on the materials and labour required. This is not an Etsy store so sometimes I will close commissions, which will be clear on the site or in my reply to your email, with an ETA as to when they will re-open.
With every purchase, you are supporting a disabled, queer fibre artist! Your support helps me to pay for medical expenses, a specialised diet, and safe housing for me and my tiny non-human friends! Most importantly, your encouragement allows me to continue to grow in this craft that I love!
